Positive Gaming is opening an office in the United Kingdom. The UK office has officially started operations with the presentation at the BETT show in London, of which we notified you in our previous announcements.  

We decided to open an office in the UK for a number of reasons:

• We want to be present on markets of strategic importance
• The UK market is a huge market in which our products are already   placed and it is our wish that our presence provide the right kind of support to distributors, owners of our systems, and to users themselves
• We want to organise financing options for our products in the best way possible
• It is our goal to be leaders in the dance game segment, and to achieve broad application of our products in various environments, from schools, leisure centres, fitness centres and youth centres to health institutions, etc.
• The UK market is very important to us. It is the second largest market after the U.S. market, and it plays a particularly important role for us in the development of the overall European market
• We will be able to integrate various models that we will be developing for the UK market on the existing EU market as well on markets which we have yet to reach
• The UK team has an enormous amount of experience in PG's business operations and has been active on the market for five years already

John Julyan is the Managing Director of the newly founded company, and Ravi Vadgama and Amanda Dew have also been appointed to positions within the team.

Glen Budgen from Positive Gaming BV, serving in International Operations and Support, will also play a key role in the support of the new company's development as the UK-based representative of the manufacturer.

We believe that this business move will undoubtedly strengthen PG's operations and provide us with additional experience from the direct market, allowing us to better understand the needs of our customers.

We would like to inform all our associates, players and iDance fans, as well as all those who have followed the work of Positive Gaming and supported our positive project, that the firm is going through a very significant reorganisation period and that there has been a change in management.

Ole Petter Høie is stepping down as Managing Director, and Mark Damave, until now the Managing Director of our partner company Arrowdance, is taking over at the helm. Positive Gaming and Arrowdance also merged into one company Positive Gaming BV with headquarters in the Netherlands, Hillegom, which will be operating from now on as one entity in all business aspects. Accordingly all contracted obligations towards our current partners remain valid.

This change is brought on by several factors. Mainly, Ole has expressed the wish to move on to the position of Founder/Director after assessing that Positive Gaming needed to take a serious change in direction after the first phase of the project had achieved enviable results, but was at the same time quite an exhausting period. Ole believes that he has a lot more to offer in his new position, while Mark can provide an extra push in all the segments.

The company is now ready to face new challenges and focus on further growth and development of its business, as well as to work on new software upgrades and product releases. Mark, who has so far been Ole's closest partner, will continue to follow Positive Gaming's vision as well as inject new energy and the initiative necessary in these challenging times on the global market.

One of the main focuses will be on the reorganisation of sales and current manner of distribution, as well as on opening new markets, ones in which Positive Gaming has not been present so far.

We will establish a direct presence in strategic markets through PG offices, primarily with the goal to offer the highest quality of support possible to local distributors.

We will also place special emphasis on the development of new products, especially in those segments of the market in which PG has not been present so far, and it is our desire to make Positive Gaming and its products accessible to everyone.

We are also working on a new marketing strategy to turn PG products into a recognizable brand on the global level.

Along with the new management, new team members have been appointed to help the company's development in the new direction:

Except from being the best BETT so far with a combination of great attendance and a real buzz, as reported by many exhibitors, BETT 2012 has definitely been remarkable and fantastically busy for Positive Gaming UK. There has been a constant stream of good quality visitors with a lot of interest, a brilliant footfall, many new contacts made and huge number of leads generated, both from UK and overseas.

For Positive Gaming, who exhibited for the first time independently through our new UK branch, this was a big success. Our demo team, consisting of professional dance game players from the UK, kept drawing attention of interested and smiling visitors, and Positive Gaming team guided all of them, from school kids to teachers and businessmen, showcasing iDANCE Multiplayer system as a medium for one of the most exciting physical and cognitive activities to be found in educational environment.

We are sure BETT 2013 would be welcoming Positive Gaming and iDANCE again!

Positive Gaming was recently one of the main attractions at the Leisure Industry Week 2010 trade show in Birmingham, UK, which took place September 21st – September 23rd.

iDANCE2 continuously drew large crowds for the duration of the event, and has been showcased at three (!) different locations at this trade show, at two separate places during the whole show, plus multiple daily demonstrations in a third place dedicated to featured product presentations.

Basilius van Houte, our iDANCE multiplayer specialist, was there together with two instructors from Pulse Fitness to guide school kids and customers towards an optimal experience with the iDANCE 2 multiplayer system. Together with 30 school kids that have been invited to experience iDANCE2, our iDANCE crew consisted of around 50 people in total, including managing director Ole Petter Høie and many professional dancing game players and friends of Positive Gaming from the UK.

Once again, event attendees that played Positive Gaming iDANCE2 made the excitement of the system obvious by their keen interest, huge smiles and sweaty brows.

July to 1. August at the SilverStone Party Center in Zwanenburg, The Netherlands. Once again, the world’s best players came together to experience four intense days of competition and social interaction. The event was deemed an unbelievable positive experience by the players, and considered an incredible success by the organizers!

The event was held by Positive Gaming, their logistics and manufacturing partners ArrowDance and the Finnish Dance Gamer Association (FDGA) which vastly contributed with organizing the event beforehand, and bringing their excellent Tournament Software along. Our friends and co-workers Kyle Ward and Chris Foy, dance game scene pioneers and "Dance Game Legends," moderated smoothly through the whole event.

69 Players and ~40 spectators from over 13 countries gathered to bring the positive spirit to this well known and established annual Positive Gaming Community event.

The site setup included four ITG2 Dedicabs for tournament play, one PIU Pro FX Cabinet on freeplay for everyone, and an 8-Platform-Setup of our Multiplayer-Dance-Game "Positive Gaming iDANCE 2".

The whole event was streamed and live broadcasted via the popular livecasting website "ustream.tv", and people from the community who couldn't manage to attend had the opportunity to directly chat with attendees of the event through the integrated live-chat. Additionally, free Internet access was provided to all attendees, and many used that opportunity to blog images, videos and reviews already during the event.

Back in 2009, Positive Gaming introduced new tournament systems and disciplines to the event. While the "King of the Hill"-system already was part of the counting disciplines, another discipline called "Ironman" was introduced as a non-counting-discipline ("Fun-Tournament"), serving as a live-test to receive feedback from players.

Ironman was meant to be a fun and challenging way of playing "In the Groove 2", and should add a whole new experience to the gameplay, since it requires so many more skills than just "FA'ing" standard songs. People suddenly we're challenged with rounds titled "Great Attack", "No Music", "Low %", and many others with given modifier sets. The consolidated feedback was very positive, and many palyers told us, that they would love to play Ironman as a counting discipline, if we would spend a little effort to fine-tune some detail-aspects of the Ironman discipline.

Surprise, surprise... in 2010 we have introduced "Ironman" as a discipline that counts towards the overall ranking. With some new challenges, such as "Mine Hunter" and "Know thy own Skill" players again we're challenged in a very unique way, and the discipline was picked up very positive.

The remaining days of the tournament were filled with intense competition in singles and doubles tournaments and included competition in bar- and no-bar-categories, with an incredible atmosphere during all the finals.

The official tournament days ended by short speeches by Ole Petter Hoie from Positive Gaming and Jari Vilkki representing the FDGA, followed by the awards ceremony and an awesome live concert by Ocillator X.

On Sunday, the last day of the event, everybody was invited to socialise and to play on all available machines set to free-play.

"Given the many studies researching the cardiovascular impact of exergames, very little research has been done on the effects of feedback on game performance.

If feedback’s role is to inform the user on skill proficiency, then how will no feedback impact learning.

The event will be held in cooperation with the Finnish Dance Gamer Association (FDGA) in the same portion of the Silverstone facilities as in 2009 and the main game for the tournaments will be In The Groove.

The Event Dates are 29. July - 1. August 2010.

We recommend that interested players plan to arrive on July 28th and leave August 2nd.

In tradition with the last 5 major Championship events hosted by Positive Gaming, we are planning an event that will be remembered for many years.

The combination of high level excitement at the tournaments, and the incredible social experience, will make this event the highlight of the year for many - don't miss out on the fun!

In addition to the tournaments, we are, once again, planning to include a concert with select bands that are famous for creating music for iDANCE and other dance games.

Positive Gaming iDANCE2 Multiplayer System Showcased at the 2010 California State AHPERD!

Event Description: Annual conference for the California Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation & Dance.

Members of the Positive Gaming team recently showcased the new iDANCE2 software in cooperation with our partner, Gopher Sport at the 2010 California State AHPERD in Ontario, California.  The event is an annual state conference and is historically, one of the largest of its kind.  The booth was located at premier location in the front of the hall and was almost fully dedicated to showcasing the Positive Gaming iDANCE2 system.  Throughout the show, attendees, including many children and physical education professionals gathered to enjoy playing and to learn about all of the many new features that reside in the newly released software.

The exciting official release of the much anticipated Positive Gaming™ iDANCE2 software recently took place at IHRSA 2010 in San Diego, California. Members of the Positive Gaming team gathered with some of the nation’s best dancers to demonstrate the robust set of features that reside within the new Positive Gaming™ iDANCE2 software. The Positive Gaming™ iDANCE2 system, which was shown in cooperation with our partner, Gopher Sport, drew constant attention from the show floor – the wide selection of new music and general excitement generated by those playing was a highlight of the event.

On many occasions during the show, people brand new to the concept of a multiplayer dance system played alongside some of the most experienced dancers in the nation through the utilization of the multiple difficulty levels simultaneously. Features such as pause and rewind allowed demonstrators to teach the concept to those attendees that were new to it – just as a teacher would teach a group fitness class. The event was a huge success in many regards and Positive Gaming would like to thank everyone that aided in such a successful release!

The Positive Gaming iDANCE2 multi-player system recently took center stage at that National AHPERD convention in Indianapolis, Indiana. The system was showcased in a premium booth location in collaboration with our distributor, Gopher Sport. The annual conference is one of the largest events of the year for professionals with specialties in helping society achieve healthy active lifestyles. This year’s conference marked the 125th anniversary of the event and drew over 5000 attendees.

The brand new, featured-packed, leading edge iDANCE2 software provided an engaging, physically and mentally involved experience for the show attendees – on numerous occasions, crowds surrounded the booth to witness and experience the exciting new software features (many of which are exclusive to the iDANCE2 system) and new selection of fully licensed music (also exclusive to the iDANCE2 system).

Physical activity is important to living a healthy active lifestyle. This hands-on workshop will focus on how exergames (video games that require the player to move) can be used as a healthy alternative to regular video games or traditional sports. Our expert panel will lead roundtable discussions and demonstrations on the use of exergames. Specifically, we will highlight exergames in schools, clinical settings, and fitness clubs.
