Torre C of E Primary School, in the UK, has been staging its own Olympics inspired event during the past few weeks called ‘Torre’s Triathlon’.
The event was kicked off on 25th June, which was World Sport Day; part of the ‘Get Set Goes Global’ programme. Following the launch, the children keenly sought sponsorship for the three ‘Torre’s Triathlon’ events that they would be taking part in:
Long Distance Run
Dance & Dance Mats
Circuits (Multi Skills)
The second week saw all children take part in dance mats activities. Every child from nursery to Year 6 took part and a total of 5,416 steps were recorded on the state-of-the-art Positive Gaming wireless iDANCE2 Multiplayer.
“All of the children had a fantastic time even those from the nursery, who enjoyed moving to the music. Everyone got better as the day went on many of them wanted to keep going!”
This Friday will see the final activity of the Triathlon and there will be a celebration at the School’s Sports Day and Summer Fayre on the 16th July.
